March For Our Lives, Moms Demand Action, and Gun Sense Legislation

Moms Demand Action and hundreds of Georgian students visited our Capitol to remember the victims of the Parkland tragedy. I was the only Senator to recognize the thousands of people dressed in red, standing just outside the chamber waiting to hear how we will address the issue of gun violence in our nation.

Gov. Miller created the opportunity for me to attend college. Here, I pay my respects from the Senate well on the day he lay in state at our Capitol.

I was honored to be the sponsor for Dyslexia Day at the Capitol this year. Thanks to my 13-year-old son, I am well-versed in the challenges faced by those with dyslexia, and am equally well-versed in the unique skills and perspectives they possess. I firmly believe that we should push for early screening, early diagnosis, and early remediation for all Georgia students with dyslexia.
